To whom it may concern:

As both buyers and sellers with Susan Stone as our agent, we cannot recommend her services strongly enough through a simple letter...but we will try:

Susan helped us purchase our home in Thousand Oaks in 2018, in the very competitive Brock Collection section of the Lang Ranch neighborhood. While she initially stated to us that she was more of a selling agent than a buying agent, we feel she was overly modest as she was highly effective in the role. She was able to get our offer accepted from the sellers with professional finesse, in spite of other offers in the same price range and without having to increase our initial offer.

While we loved the house, three years later the opportunity to move back to our hometown with the job we had moved to Thousand Oaks for arose. We knew we had to sell the house and--in spite of 3 years of marketing from dozens of competing realtors advertising big sales for other homeowners and offering to work hard to sell our house for equally large closings--we promptly reached out to Susan. Even though in the midst of a vacation, she did not hesitate to respond and make it clear she was at our disposal right then-and-there.

She worked with us to quickly get the house up to selling-ready status (which involved some real time-crunching magic, reaching out to and setting up appointments with a variety of businesses on our behalf, and successfully securing contractors during the difficult year-ending holiday season). She got the house listed, showed the house over a weekend, and got us multiple offers over the already-pleasing asking price. In the end, she did all this while getting us what we most hoped for, but believed highly unlikely: closing prior to the end of the year, with only about 2 months from the time we first contacted her.

Both the purchase in 2018 and the sale in 2021 were done long distance, with Susan deftly managing many of the details for us.

And that leads to one of the most important reasons we went with Susan--putting aside all the many other major reasons previously described--which was the she was a hands-on realtor we could count on dealing with personally. She didn't meet with us initially and then pawn us off to her subordinates. We knew if we would be meeting someone when viewing houses to buy or dealing with someone from listing to closing when selling, it would be Susan. It meant everything to us that we knew the agent, that she knew us, and we never had to deal with any in-between agent as if we didn't warrant Susan's time.

Susan made us feel valued as clients in both transactions...and we equally valued her as our agent.

Our home needed some updating and also had a number of deferred maintenance issues that needed to be addressed, meaning we had to find a buyer who was willing and able to put in the necessary work to make the house all it could be. Susan was able to market our home in a way that showcased all of its best features and potential and found a buyer who loved the property as much as we did. The entire transaction went off without a hitch! I wholeheartedly recommend Susan for any real estate sale or purchase.

The sale of our home came with an unusual circumstance. My husband has some cognitive delay which left me to sell this house by myself. It was very emotional to say the least.

Susan has been very kind and understanding through the entire process. She helped me to stay calm and reassured me everything would go smoothy. I do admit at times that I gave her a bit of a run for her money.

There were so many things you did for us, but foremost was that your fluency in Spanish made the whole process tremendously easier for Rosy. We were pretty picky about the kind of house we wanted, so your patience in showing us so many houses was welcome. When we did choose a house, the expertise of you and Alex was essential in the investigation of the safety of the fireplace. Ultimately, your recommended offering price allowed us to grab the house away from several other bidders.

When selling our house, you staged it beautifully for the open house. The house looked fabulous.
